Tuesday Updates | St. Peters PhotographerApril 24th, 2012Wow! A few weeks have come and gone since my last Tuesday blog.
Tuesday’s are just flying by and I am starting to realize how easy it is for busyness to get the best of me, at least in the way of keeping up my blog that is. I have so many things coming to fruition right now with my photography business and schooling. Yes…you read right, schooling. I am graduating with a degree in Graphic Design this July. Yay!! Although I am thrilled about this accomplishment, it has certainly overwhelmed my spare time with finals and planning for an upcoming internship. I am gaining a new appreciation for all the college kids out there trying to juggle all they do. Finding the balance in time while caring for family, running a business and going to school can be challenging, but I remind myself often to appreciate the blessing of it all. I was reminded just this past week in the lyrics of a familiar, favorite song, “In the middle of my little mess, I forget how big I’m blessed.” A reminder to myself every now and again to breath and tell myself, “If I miss a blog or two occasionally, it’s not the end of the world. It just means I am busy doing what I love, taking pictures and learning how to always be the best I can be at just that!”
Most of my photography sessions over the past two weeks have been with graduating seniors. Old Town St. Charles, historic Cottleville and cooperating weather made perfect settings for these shoots. I am looking forward to getting the editing work done on these sessions. I will also be finishing up a shoot with one of my Senior Role Models. I am eager to get his session shot and edited so I can finalize this new program for 2012 and get it up, running and released.
I was honored to photograph the Third Annual Gala for BreakDown STL Saturday, April 14th at the Kemp Auto Museum. What an amazing event with Tim Ezell as MC and Andy Benes as a guest speaker, also the recipient of the BreakDown STL Youth Empowerment Award. It was certainly a “red carpet” event!

Client login: gala A big, heartfelt thanks to BreakDown STL for announcing me that evening as BreakDown’s official photographer. I love this group and all they are doing for our community. Saturday, I photographed Lindsey and Adam’s wedding at Hermann Hill. What a beautiful day it turned out to be after all the rain we had last week. I also found time over the weekend for a workshop on senior photography at the Hilton Ball Park and the Wedding Trail in Hermann. Always appreciative to learn!
Tip of the week: Don’t sweat the small stuff. Until Next Tuesday! ~Cathy |

First Tuesday in April | St. Louis PhotographerApril 3rd, 2012Today’s Tuesday blog is accompanied with record heat for a St. Louis April. April? Already April and it feels like June. Easter is just around the corner and I feel like I should be watching nature bloom and yet I find myself wanting to pull out my swim suit and head out back for a dip in the pool. What is up with our crazy weather patterns lately and where does the time go? Much of my work this week has me asking myself this very question. Well, not really about the weather, but about the passing time.
I’m looking forward to my family being home for Easter. Preparations are now underway for a houseful. Can’t wait! Tip of the week: Happy Easter!! Have any little ones to surprise? Here is a link for some fun printouts and Easter treats. Enjoy!! http://www.welovetoillustrate.com/2012/04/free-easter-printables.html Until Next Tuesday! ~Cathy |

Babies…Babies…Babies! I absolutely love my newborn and baby sessions. This week brought me so much fun in two families and their sweet baby girls. Sophia and Olivia were simply angels as we adorned them in tutus, bunny wear, and even police uniforms. These two beautiful babies were each just about a week old and I am so pleased with all the creativity used in their shoots. I just love it when the parents are willing to be creative with me. It sure makes for some pretty amazing photos. It’s working with these little newborn’s that often has me wondering where the time goes. I offer a Bebe Collection to my clients wanting newborn sessions. It’s a program that offers
parents a discounted price and other specials with four custom portrait sessions as their baby grows: newborn, 3 months, 6-9 months and 12 months. Parents can rest assured that they have a pre-paid session ready and waiting when the time comes. I worked with little Roman last Thursday for his one year old session, his parents Gina & Leo are dear friends of mine. It seems like just yesterday we were doing his newborn session. I can’t believe he is already one year old and such a go-getter. Gina and I had such a blast playing with him to get the shots we wanted. It was precious time spent for sure.
Sunday evening had me reminiscing over time again as I headed to Quail Ridge Park to meet Krista & Adam for a maternity session. Although it was a hot afternoon, it didn’t keep us from capturing great images of this special time in their life. I couldn’t believe I was meeting Krista for a maternity session. She used to be one of my dance students and now she is about to be a mommy. Krista and Adam are a sweet couple and I loved spending time with them. I also love that they are keeping the sex of the baby a secret until the arrival. I can’t wait to meet their new one for a newborn session – only a few weeks away!
The weekend also brought an engagement session downtown. Lindsey and Adam had a perfect day for a shoot at the City Garden, Busch Stadium, and The Arch Grounds. It was fun to get to know this couple a little better before their big day at Hermann Hill on April 21st.
I’m looking forward to my family being home for Easter. Preparations are now underway for a houseful. Can’t wait!
