Amanda & Kendric

September 29th, 2010

What an awesome day! Not just the amazing weather, but the entire day was perfect. From the first look as Amanda descended the stairs, and Kendric turned to see his beautiful bride to the lovely ceremony and lively reception. It was such a pleasure to be a part of Amanda & Kendric’s day along with their wonderful families and friends.

The day started with photos at Glen Echo Country Club. Amanda’s veil blew off right after this shot, but Kendric was quick and saved it from the lake!

They really are the cutest, sweetest couple and so much fun!

Love the red shoes!!!

The beautiful ceremony was held at UMSL Provincial House Chapel

Congratulations Amanda & Kendric!

David & Diane’s Family

September 9th, 2010

What an awesome place David & Diane have for a photo shoot! Add beautiful weather and a fun family and how could you not get great shots! Here are some of my favorites of their family.

Getting the dogs to all sit and look at the camera was really not as easy as it looks – great job guys!

I love this one!

And now for the boys favorite part – first we had to practice jumping on the count of 3.

And here goes the real thing!

I was very impressed Diane was able to not get her hair wet, and I think Trevor & Tyler would have let me take pictures of them jumping in the pool all day! Thanks for a great time guys!

My Grandkids

September 7th, 2010

It’s not often I get all eleven of my grandchildren together at one time, but when I do it’s crazy & awesome! Sometimes during a photo shoot people worry that their children aren’t behaving as well as they want them to, but it really doesn’t bother me. I don’t expect them to sit quietly and pose perfectly – that just wouldn’t be a normal day! Anyway, the best shots are when they’re being themselves. Here’s a few outtakes from how perfectly things went at the photo shoot with my eleven grandchildren.

The first step is to gather everyone into one general location

The next step is to keep the baby from crying and get everyone to look at the camera instead of Fen trying to run away.

It’s usually best if they don’t eat the mulch

Now, if we can just get one shot without goofy faces or cheesy smiles

No matter what, jumping and hanging out with your cousins is always a great time!

And, here are my favorite shots of the day

And number one – all eleven in one shot – priceless!

My First Camera

September 1st, 2010

While cleaning my basement store room to make more space for photo props yesterday, I came across an old scrapbook. It’s full of images I took with my first camera! I had so much fun looking through them I just had to share a few.

This is my brother Keith in 1967. I love that he posed for me! Oops – I guess I’m showing my age with these dates!

My friend Kimberly Rogers loved posing for my camera – if you’re out there Kim, I’ve been trying to find you! I love that my shadow is in this shot which means she was facing straight into the bright sun, & could I be any further away!

Now we jump to 1969. I obviously still needed a little work on my composition skills – I almost got my brother Keith and our new puppy Rowlf in the shot!

1971 – this was the year I took photography in 4-H and actually learned a little bit about what I was doing. Notice the way mom is holding her purse – not sure if she did that or I directed it?

We had just moved to the country so there was always work to do – here’s dad taking a break from all the leaves!

And my whole family heading to the pond for fishing and a swim. Not sure dad was enjoying me constantly stopping him for pictures.

Of course, our pony Bill was always along – he loved to nudge people and push them into the pond.

Well that’s my trip down memory lane for the day, now back to editing!
